Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 27, 2026
Stay in Touch (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile app handles your information. The app is operated from the United States, and this policy applies to all users.
Information We Collect
Stay in Touch stores all personal data—such as your contacts, reminders, and messages—locally on your device. We do not have access to this information and it is not transmitted to our servers. Because this relationship data stays on your device, we do not store, process, or retain it on our servers.
If you choose to log in, we may collect basic account information (such as an email address or identifier) from your chosen authentication provider to create your app profile.
Optional Cloud or External Backups
You may choose to back up your data using your own connected cloud or storage account (for example, Google Drive or other supported services). These backups are encrypted and stored in private folders accessible only to you through those services. We cannot view or manage this data. You may delete these backups at any time through the service you used for backup.
Analytics, Diagnostics, and Data Categories
We may use third-party tools (such as Sentry or PostHog) to collect limited account-related identifiers (name, email, user ID) along with technical diagnostics (app version, device info, crash logs, and basic usage events) to help improve app stability, performance, and support.
These analytics tools do NOT access or collect your personal relationship content—including contacts, phone numbers, emails stored in contacts, notes, message templates, reminders, or check-in history. This information is never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to third parties.
In addition to reminders, data stored locally may include other user-generated information (for example, notes, contact names, phone numbers, or message templates). These remain on your device unless you choose to include them in a backup.
If a technical failure, data corruption, or other accidental loss occurs, we do not have access to recover your data because it is stored locally or in your chosen backup service. We recommend enabling optional backups to minimize the risk of permanent loss.
How We Use Information
- To enable authentication and sync if you choose to log in.
- To provide optional backup and restore functionality.
- To improve app performance and fix issues.
Data Retention
All user data is stored on your device unless you choose to back it up. Removing the app will delete local data. You can delete backups manually in Google Drive.
Third-Party Services
Our app may interact with third-party services such as:
- Google Drive (for backups)
- Auth0 / Google Sign-In (for authentication)
Each service has its own privacy policy governing their data use.
Your Rights
You can:
- Disconnect your login account (google drive integration).
- Delete backups from Google Drive.
- Uninstall the app to delete all local data.
- Clear app storage in your device settings to remove all personal data without uninstalling.
Children’s Privacy
Our app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be available in-app and on our website, with a new “Last updated” date.
