Privacy Policy

Stay in Touch stores your relationship data—such as contacts, notes, reminders, check-ins, message templates, and contact photos—locally on your device by default. We do not have access to this content and do not transmit it to our servers.

There is no separate Stay in Touch account to create. If you choose to sign in with Google, the app receives your Google identifier, name, and email address. It uses that information to link your identity with RevenueCat for purchases and subscription management and with PostHog for product analytics. Google sign-in also enables optional Google Drive backups. The app collects the limited usage and diagnostic information described below even without Google sign-in.

You may choose to back up your data using a local file or your own connected storage account, such as Google Drive. A backup may contain your contacts, notes, reminders, check-ins, settings, and contact photos. Cloud backups are stored in your account with the selected provider; we cannot view or manage them. You can delete those backups through the provider you used.

We use PostHog for limited product analytics and Sentry for crash reporting, diagnostics, and user-submitted feedback. Depending on your platform and whether you sign in with Google, this information may include a user or device identifier, name, email address, app version, device and operating-system information, IP address, screen views, basic feature-usage events, crash logs, and details you voluntarily submit with feedback.

We do not intentionally send your relationship content—such as contact names, phone numbers, contact email addresses, notes, message templates, reminders, check-in history, or contact photos—to analytics or diagnostic providers. We do not use this information for advertising or sell it.

If a technical failure, data corruption, or other accidental loss occurs, we do not have access to recover your data because it is stored locally or in your chosen backup service. We recommend enabling optional backups to minimize the risk of permanent loss.

• To connect Google and link subscription and analytics records if you choose to sign in with Google.
• To provide optional backup and restore functionality.
• To improve app performance and fix issues.

Relationship data remains on your device unless you choose to include it in a backup. Removing the app deletes its local data. You can delete cloud backups through your storage provider. Provider identifiers, analytics, diagnostic, and purchase records are retained according to the policies of the applicable service provider and as needed for security, support, and legal obligations.

Our app may interact with third-party services such as:

• Google Drive (for optional backups)
• Google Sign-In (for optional Google authentication)
• PostHog (for product analytics)
• Sentry (for diagnostics and feedback)
• RevenueCat (for purchases and subscription management)
• Apple App Store and Google Play (for app distribution and billing)

Each service has its own privacy policy governing their data use.

You can:

• Disconnect your Google account from the app.
• Delete backups through the service where you stored them.
• Uninstall the app to delete all local data.
• Contact us to request deletion of personal information we control, including linked identifiers, analytics, and support records. This does not delete purchases or information retained by third-party providers under their own policies.

The app requests access only when needed for a feature you choose. Contacts access lets you select people from your address book; notification access enables reminders; and photo-library access lets you choose a contact photo. You can instead add contacts manually and can change permissions in your device settings.

Our app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be available in-app and on our website, with a new “Last updated” date.
